• Updates
Sorry I didn't update y'all when I got home on Wednesday - I had to run some errands after lunch, etc., etc., yada yada.
Lunch with N was nice. I had a really nice time. He seemed like a really nice person - a real mensch - a real person, if you know what I mean. We had a great conversation - he has lived near many of the same places I have. He even picked up the tab for the meal even though I was the one who made the invitation! However, Dangly asked me, "Does he turn your crank?" and I had to honestly answer, "I don't know." Don't get me wrong - there's nothing about him that screams, "Eww! NO!" but on the other hand, I didn't feel sparks or fireworks, either. Maybe it's just because we were both a little nervous. I am willing to try again and see if anything develops. I'll let y'all know either way.

Lunch with R today was also nice. R *does* turn my crank. After we finished eating, Dangly had to go back to work, but he said that if I wanted to stay and hang out with R, that was ok with him. Speaking of bagels & what I meant by "the bagel I cheated with this morning": if you've read this blog for any length of time, you know I am on the Atkins plan. I started in mid-June at 170 lbs (I'm 5'7" tall.), which was a lifetime high weight for me. By my birthday in August, I had lost 25 pounds, then another 5 by the end of September. Of course, by that time, I was well into the final stages of the "Ongoing Weight Loss" phase of the plan, bordering on the "Lifetime Maintenance" phase. I believe I've followed the diet correctly - when it was time to start adding carbs back into my diet, I didn't do it via sugar and refined carbs, I did it via veggies and whole grains, the higher the fiber, the better. I continued to lose weight, ever so slowly, just the way you're supposed to.
When we were in Asia, I tried really hard to stay on the diet, but the bottom line is, if you don't eat rice & noodles, you don't eat. So, I ate rice and noodles - and the best lasagna I've ever had, and Baskin-Robbins ice cream - but I also walked my ass off - to the train station, from the train station, up the stairs, down the stairs, etc. All in all, after two weeks, I had only gained 5 pounds - less than I expected after the way I ate there!
When we got home, I went back into a strict phase of the Atkins plan & promptly lost those 5 pounds - AND have lost 5 more! Yes, I have now lost 35 pounds! I feel great; I look great! I'm back in the meat, cheese, veggies and moderate intake of whole grains phase now because I'm not *trying* to lose any more weight.
So this morning, I had a bagel. It was terribly sweet & I really shouldn't have had it, but I feel far less guilty about it now after having done all that walking after lunch!
OrdinaryJoe over at Memoirs of a Married Mad Man is also trying the Atkins program. I wish him luck & hope he enjoys as much success as I have!

• Archives...
... does anybody know an easy way to go through my archives on blogspot and change all the references from blogspot.com to twiddlybits.net? Is there a "search & replace" function?
If I modify the actual .html files & ftp them, then the changes are over-written when I publish from blogger.com.

UPDATE: I'm going to try a procedure from blogger's KB. Wish me luck. I have to temporarily reset my blog to publish back on blogspot, then massage the code a bit, then do a search/replace, then set everything back so that it publishes properly here. Ugh. Wish me luck!!
UPDATE #2: Rats! All that does is give me an easily-downloadable html file. There's no way to load it back into blogger & keep the changes - at least not that I can see. *sigh* Back to the drawing board.
